Rebecca Landy, PhD

Rebecca Landy, PhD, is a principal scientist in the Cancer Risk Factors and Screening Research team, in the Surveillance & Health Equity Science department at the American Cancer Society. Her background is in epidemiology and biostatistics. Her research focuses on cancer screening, prevention and early detection, and combines data from multiple sources to model the population-level impact of cancer screening/prevention.

She is interested in developing the evidence base to inform clinical guidelines, and evaluating how guideline changes impact population health. She has worked across multiple cancer sites (cervical, lung, esophageal and colorectal), and has developed two natural history microsimulation models, one for cervical cancer and one for HPV-associated oropharyngeal cancer. She enjoys working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
