"Pragmatic Trials (and Tribulations) To Reduce Inappropriate Medication Use"Cara Tannenbaum, MD, MScProfessor, Faculties of Medicine and PharmacyUniversité de Montréal   Cara Tannenbaum, Professor of Medicine and Pharmacy, is the Director of the Canadian Deprescribing Network, launched in January 2016. She holds the Michel Saucier Endowed Chair in Geriatric Pharmacology, Health and Aging in the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Université de Montréal since 2008. She received her geriatric specialty degree and Master's training in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McGill University. Dr. Tannenbaum conducted the EMPOWER trial, and is currently leading the DEPRESCRIBE trial, and another Canadian trial to reduce inappropriate prescriptions in seniors in primary care. In 2013 she received the Canadian Institutes of Health Prize for Knowledge Translation in Aging. She is strongly committed to improving physician-pharmacist collaboration to optimize medication management in seniors.
