Dr. Kevin Johnson looks at the effort to introduce AI in medicine -- the advances we can achieve and the challenges we face. He proposes a potential strategy based on the path that led to the present-day personal health record. A pioneer of medical information technologies to improve patient safety, Dr. Johnson is a new Penn Integrates Knowledge professor. He holds joint appointments: in the DBEI, and in the Department of Computer and Information Science within the School of Engineering and Applied Science. An expert in science communication, he also holds a secondary appointment in Penn's Annenberg School.Questions?
