Leadership & Core Team

Ms. Wesby is responsible for the overall leadership of the CRCU. She continues to provide direct leadership, coordination and management for the POCO staff, in their conduct of data project management across multiple projects within the CRCU. Ms. Wesby has over 15 years of project management experience with a strong knowledge of regulations and guidelines that apply to the conduct of clinical research. Ms. Wesby joined the CRCU in 2016 and has been with the University since 2007.

Ms. Blanco is responsible for providing overall leadership of Clinical Data Management (CDM) within the CRCU.  In CDM, the primary focus is to provide clients the appropriate tools and support required to implement their research ideas and protocols. Ms. Blanco is responsible for directing data management activities across several research studies from study start up to analysis and publication.  Ms. Blanco has over 15 years of data management experience with a strong knowledge of database development on various platforms that facilitate remote data capture and ensure data integrity.

Mr. Ballard is responsible for the overall leadership of the Software Systems Division (SSD) and the Database Services Division (DSD). He provides senior leadership and management for RT staff, who lead the software and database design and development activities across all CRCU projects. Mr. Ballard has over 25 years of experience performing and managing software development, database design, and database administration for a variety of small and large clinical research projects within an academic setting.

Ms. Kuzla has over 13 years of project management experience with a strong knowledge of project start-up, regulatory and FDA IND compliance, and study document development. Ms. Kuzla oversees several large, multi-site research networks and is responsible for supervising junior project managers within the CRCU. Ms. Kuzla joined the CRCU in 2015 and has been with the University since 2012.

Mr. Carbonari has over 20 years of experience managing a variety of research projects and has extensive experience in creating electronic data capture tools. He has been with the University since 2010.
