Junko Takeshita, MD, PhD, MSCE

Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Epidemiology

Dr. Takeshita is an epidemiologist and dermatologist with clinical expertise in psoriasis.  Her research focuses on health and healthcare disparities in chronic inflammatory diseases of the skin such as psoriasis and eczema. Current research efforts include using classic epidemiologic and qualitative research approaches to identify and understand disparities in the treatment of psoriasis. Dr. Takeshita uses large administrative claims, registry, and national survey data for epidemiologic studies in skin diseases and has experience in clinical trials. Dr. Takeshita also uses her basic science and epidemiology training to lead translational work in inflammatory skin diseases with an ongoing project studying the skin microbiome in psoriasis.
