"Distribution of COVID-19 Vaccines across the US: A Geographic Information Systems Approach" Inmaculada (Inma) Hernandez, PharmD, PhDAssociate Professor, Division of Clinical Pharmacy Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences I earned my PharmD from the University of Navarra (Spain) in 2013 and my PhD in Health Services Research and Policy from the University of Pittsburgh in 2016. I began my faculty career at the University of Pittsburgh and I joined the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) as an Associate Professor with tenure in 2021. My research has focused on evaluating clinical and economic outcomes of oral anticoagulation and studying pharmaceutical pricing. I have published over 90 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts with more than 65 as first or senior author. Some of these articles have been published in top-tier journals, including JAMA, Annals of Internal Medicine, JAMA Internal Medicine, JAMA Oncology, JAMA Neurology, JAMA Dermatology, Health Affairs, and Stroke. My research has been covered by media worldwide (UK, Australia, Canada, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Singapore), and has been featured in the main US outlets, including New York Times, Washington Post, NPR, CNN, Forbes, BBC, ABC, CNBC, or Bloomberg. I am the PI of a K01 and an R01 to study oral anticoagulation use in atrial fibrillation. I was awarded my first R01 as sole PI at the age of 30. In 2018, I was recognized on the Forbes 30 under 30 list, and in 2021, I became the first pharmacist to be recognized with the Academy Health Alice S. Hersh Emerging Leader Award. This award is one of the highest honors for early-career health services researchers. I am a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association.
