"Rising Drug Prices: What are the Drivers?" Inmaculada Hernandez, PharmD, PhD Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy University of California, San Diego Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Inmaculada (Inma) Hernandez earned her PharmD from the University of Navarra (Spain) in 2013 and her PhD in Health Services Research and Policy from the University of Pittsburgh in 2016. Last month, she joined the faculty at UCSD as an Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy. Previously she was an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy and Therapeutics at the University of Pittsburgh Her research has focused on evaluating clinical and economic outcomes of oral anticoagulant agents and studying pharmaceutical pricing. She has published over 70 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts with more than 50 as first or senior author. Some of these articles have been published in top-tier journals, including JAMA, Annals of Internal Medicine or Health Affairs. Her research has been featured in the main media outlets, including New York Times, Washington Post or NPR. Inmaculada is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association. In 2018 she was recognized on the Forbes 30 under 30 list as a young leader in healthcare research. She is also a recipient of the Seema S. Sonnad Emerging Leader in Managed Care Research Award and the Rho Chi Society Outstanding Scholarly Contribution Award.
