The primary role of the BAC is to provide biostatistical programming and analysis support for funded research studies. In addition, the BAC is able to provide data management support and to facilitate the identification of faculty collaborators for proposal development or specialized analyses. Each of these research service categories is detailed below.


Biostatistical Analysis and Programming

  • Primary statistical analysis
  • Preparation of analytic datasets for NIH repositories
  • Independent manuscript review and analysis verification
  • Handling of large medical record and administrative databases
  • Randomization scheme development
  • Development of publication quality tables and graphs

Collaboration on Study Design and Proposal Development

  • Development and implementation of studies of all sizes and complexity
  • Study design and statistical analysis plan development
  • Sample size calculations
  • Specialized data analysis
  • Development of analytic scope of work and budget estimates for inclusion in grant proposals

Data Management

  • Development and maintenance of research databases
  • Data cleaning
