The PhD in epidemiology trains independent researchers to develop and apply epidemiologic methods. The faculty members of the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics—which distinctively brings together faculty members in three major disciplines of population science—position students to learn and participate in novel approaches to solving problems.
Because the epidemiology programs are housed in the Perelman School of Medicine, students also engage as members of a wider, diverse community of investigators. The PhD program in epidemiology is administered by a graduate group, which affords students exceptional cross-disciplinary opportunities.
