Study Weighs Hormone Therapy for Women with Gene Mutations

Research led by Susan Domchek, MD, an associate professor in the division of Hematology-Oncology and director of the Cancer Risk Evaluation Program in the Abramson Cancer Center and Timothy Rebbeck, PhD, associate director of population science at the Abramson Cancer Center, showing that women who carry the BRCA mutations can safety take hormone replacement therapy after having their ovaries removed to lower their risk of cancer, was highlighted in the Philadelphia Inquirer. Domchek will present the findings today at the American Society of Clinical Oncology meeting.
