Dr. Yu-Xiao Yang, Assistant Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology,
Gastroenterology Division, was quoted in Associated Press and Reuters
articles that were picked up in numerous media outlets about a study
that reports people over the age of 50 who took popular heartburn drugs
for a year or more had a significant increase in the risk of breaking a
hip. Articles regarding the study findings were published in the New York Times and the Boston Globe.
