Cancer Clinical Epidemiology Training Program
Training Program Overview
Brian Strom, MD, MPH directs this post-doctoral training program, which is designed for those interested in academic careers as clinical investigators focusing on cancer research. The program is designed for clinicians who have completed training in a relevant medical specialty or for selected non-clinicians with a PhD in a basic science or related field. Trainees interested in this pathway will matriculate in the Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology degree program.
Background and History
Training in cancer clinical epidemiology has been provided by the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (CCEB) since 1993. Fellowships for this training program, managed collaboratively by the CCEB and the Abramson Cancer Center, are provided with funding from the National Cancer Institute.
Research
The CCEB and the Abramson Cancer Center are the primary entities within Penn engaged in clinical epidemiology and cancer research. Superb resources are available.Training Program Curriculum
